Willem van Honthorst
The Dutch painter Willem van Honthorst went to Berlin in 1646, where he was appointed court painter to Frederick William of Brandenburg and his wife Luise Henriette of Orange in early 1647. He remained in the elector's service for seventeen years and did not return to Utrecht until 1664. Several historicising portraits by Honthorst have.

Willem van Honthorst (1594-1666), was a Dutch Golden Age painter. He was born in Utrecht as the younger brother of Gerard van Honthorst, whose father Herman taught them to paint along with Abraham Bloemaert. [1] Like his brother, he is known as a follower of Caravaggio and became a respected portrait painter. [1]
